The Role: - We are seeking a Designer to support the specification and design of contract furniture solutions for commercial interior projects. This role works closely with sales, dealers, architects, and end users to develop furniture layouts, specifications, and presentation packages from concept through installation.
- This is an ideal role for someone with experience in commercial furniture, workplace interiors, or interior design who enjoys both design and technical coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop furniture layouts, specifications, and typicals for commercial projects
- Prepare design packages, including floor plans, elevations, finish selections, and schedules
- Support sales teams with client presentations, proposals, and pricing packages
- Coordinate with manufacturers, dealers, and internal teams to ensure accurate specifications
- Review architectural drawings and align furniture solutions with project requirements
- Assist with revisions, value engineering, and substitutions as projects evolve
- Maintain product knowledge across contract furniture systems and finishes
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- Experience in contract/commercial furniture (dealer, manufacturer, or A&D support)
- Working knowledge of 2020, CET or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with commercial furniture systems, panels, seating, and ancillary products
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Clear communication skills and comfort working in a client-facing environment
